Jan 19, 2006 · hard block. The 010 020 blockes seem to bore the same as other blocks. The block that seems to make a difference to my boring bar is the 509 blocks. Some are marked on the outside but most are marked 509 inside the timing cover. They seem to bore a little harder and finish a little better.

Feb 7, 2015 · The 010 & 020 is nothing more than a sand cast number for the front part, letting the founder know it's for a block ending in 010/020 Being a 350/305 engine block. As time went on the later model block got better and better. THE 010 /020 IS A TOTAL UNFOUNDED PUBLISHED RUMOR BY SOMEONE WHO IS NOT INFORMED! FYI AL
May 1, 2007 · If it has both 010 and 020 then its 1% tin and 2% Nickel in the casting, which according to him, the tin helps the actual casting process resulting in a more consistent pour. If it only has 010 or 020 then its 1% or 2% Nickel with no tin. I have read and heard this "myth" of a block's nickel content for many years.
