The X24C44 is a 256-bit serial NOVRAM, internally configured as sixteen 16-bit words of RAM overlaid bit for bit with a nonvolatile E2PROM. The X24C44 has the standard hardware RECALL and STORE inputs, plus the ability to perform these same operations under software control, thereby freeing two microcontroller port pins for other tasks.
