If you are only using the bike on the street, there's no problem with the cast pistons (all Honda OEM pistons were cast). The Cycle X 850 piston kit will take you to the limit with the stock block and will make the bike run hotter.

I've managed to luck into a 1973 CB750 for all of the bolts and screws I was missing on my 1978 CB750F so my build is finally progressing and I'm beginning to make some headway. I've lined out most of the parts I will need to order, however, I wanted to make some serious performance upgrades to the engine on the 78.
Sep 24, 2007 · Honda managed to get the CR750 to 90hp with 11:1 compression pistons, cam, head (basically the entire 970 kit) but the motor was essentially 736ccs. Sam on the board managed to eek out a solid 85 hp with an 836 kit, all the machining goodies, and CR carbs. In his roadrace chassis this was good for 12 second ets.
